THESIS: The wonders of nature captured by a vivid colorful photograph of a Tiger Swallowtails-papilo demodocus on an astonishing red flower, and the way a manipulation of any source strips its remarkable power and beauty.

BASIS A: Natures beauty

ITEM I: This photo of the Tiger swallowtails on a red flower surprise me by its remarkable beauty. You can see how nature is reveal, how attractive and breathtaking it could be, how it can transport you to another world, a world of natural magnificence. It tells you the story of life, of how nature takes care of itself by providing for each other. You know that butterflies feeds of the flower's nectar, and when they eat the nectar they transport pollen on their legs to another flower, helping the flowers reproduction. Art imitates nature, and nature is life.

ITEM II: The original photo manipulated to look like a stain-glass takes away the natural beauty that was revealed in the original. It is not as attractive, but it still kept some of its loveliness. It is hard for it to tell you a story because you concentrate on figuring out what it is. Once you realized what the stain glass painting is, it reveals an ordinary butterfly on a flower.

BASIS B: Reality

ITEM I: The picture is real, is a picture of a real butterfly on a red flower. You can see the spider web underneath the petals of the flower. You can see the radiant colors of the tiger swallowtails. The contrast of the yellow and black on the wings verifies its name. You can see the detail of it all. It conveys reality in a way that you could almost touch it.

ITEM II: The stain-glass photo is a distorted image of the original, but it does not convey reality, it merely imitates the real butterfly on a flower. You can see the outline not as defined as the original. The colors are there but are not helping it to look real. The green overtakes the image not letting the other colors show what they can do for figure. There is no truth expose here.

BASIS C: Impact

ITEM I: At first sight of this tiger swallowtails captured on this photo, it promotes a gasping sound from its viewer. You don't have to really think to feel the instant impression it gives you. Your imagination is not needed to conclude that its force is powerful.

ITEM II: This stain-glass image does not capture your interest; it does not suggest anything to the viewer. The manipulation of it has made it loose its power in a significant way. It stripped the force and impression from its original state.
